About Mackenzie

Mackenzie currently works in the newsroom of Sydney's top rating 6pm news bulletin. Part of the News Media Exchange team, he manages all incoming and outgoing feeds for news and current affair programming on the Nine Network.

In addition to his role in News Media Exchange, Mackenzie works on the Chief of Staff desk at Nine News Sydney, assigning Reporters, Camera Operators, Link Technicians and the News Helicopter to stories of local, national and international significance.

Additionally this role has Mackenzie work in the field as a Chase Producer attending press conferences and court hearings, following up story leads and interviewing talent including of note Prime Minister of Australia Malcolm Turnbull and an exclusive interview with Former Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott.

Prior to his work at the Nine Network, Mackenzie worked as a freelance Reporter and Camera Operator. He created a website, The Sydney Newsdesk, where articles, photographs, videos, audio excerpts and live blogs were regularly published from his on-the-ground reporting of unfolding stories throughout Sydney.

His photographic and video work was frequently commissioned for use by Fairfax Media, News Corp, The Guardian, Seven Network and Nine Network.
